Staff return to work following COVID-19 incident

The Town of Wasaga Beach employee who contracted COVID-19 at the end of January has returned to work.
The staff member returned to work after receiving clearance from public health and the town.
The five staff who self-isolated as a precaution are back at work as well. The staff work in the same area as the employee who had the virus. These staff self-isolated until the town and public health determined they were virus-free.

Notice of completion for Main Street and beachfront study

Our study into the long-term transportation needs for Main Street and Beach Areas 1 and 2 is complete.
The recommendations of the study consider what is needed to support growth and development in this area of our community.

No such thing as completely safe ice

There is no such thing as completely safe ice.
Always exercise extreme caution when around frozen lakes, rivers and streams.
Tips- Be suspicious. You cannot tell the strength of the ice by its appearance.
- Check reported conditions. Before you head out onto any ice, check with a local marina operator or snowmobile club for known ice conditions.
- Avoid travelling at night. Clear hard ice is the only kind of ice recommended for travel; keep away from unfamiliar paths or unknown ice.
